Lorna Babcock
Growing up in Colorado, art was always a part of my life. As a wife and mother of two, I continued to pursue my passion for art, creating pieces that reflected the magnificent beauty I was constantly surrounded by.
Living in the mountains, I became particularly drawn to rustic pyrography art, where I used a wood-burning tool to create designs on barn wood. Through this medium, I found a way to capture the essence of the local wildlife and culture in my artwork, bringing a touch of nature into people's homes.
Now an artist based in Florida, I draw inspiration from the vibrant colors and wondrous allure of this state. The diverse landscapes, from the beaches to the Everglades, provide endless opportunities to capture the essence of Florida living in my art through a mix of mediums. I strive to create art that not only reflects the beauty of my surroundings but also speaks to the emotions and experiences of those who view it. A lover of all things ornamental I often include intricate designs, pottery images and mandalas in my pieces.
Creating art has always been a source of joy and fulfillment for me, and being able to share it with others has been a wonderful experience. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the absolute delight of nature and find joy in the simple pleasures of life.
